    Put away for one week under a cover of tarps and plastic, the concrete pour needs to harden, cure, and set with little or no bother. It is this setting process which provides the concrete with its static strength.

    Deconstruction! These photos are about the removal of a footer around our building due to incorrect concrete mixtures. The good news is that we are on our way again. (Boy, who is going to carry away all of the rubble?)

    Foundation Cut at 2:45PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. Other pictures build up to the cut and then depict the additional work around the soon-to-be concrete slab for the new building.

    Some final pictures before the footers are poured...assuming the weather cooperates. This mud hole will quickly turn into our new and very special building. Once the footers are in, the expansion project becomes far less dependent on weather conditions.

    Our building showed up! It is like an Erector set. Probably thousands of parts. It was offloaded about 10AM today. Hard to imagine what it will look like seeing it laying on the ground like this.

Striping of Parking Lot

Lot is now striped and painted. Can you find the biggest and smallest parking spaces?  See the newest pictures of the parking lot at 52 - December 20.  You will also see the latest pictures of the amazing ramp that has been erected.  This is NOT a weenie-ramp, for sure!  Have a good Christmas holiday.

Compare One Year Difference

This might be fun.  Compare today, Dec 18 (it got up to an official high today of 73 deg) with Dec 21, 2005 (see the snow in the pictures from last year this time).  See 51 - December 18 (2006) and then compare with one year earlier, 09 - December 21 (2005).  On Dec 21 last year, the first ground cut occured for our new building.  Looks much different today, doesn't it?  Soooooo nice...

You might want to revisit all the pictures and comments from Dec 2005 at Dec 2005.  Good stuff.

Coming Along!

We are having great Dec weather so a lot is getting done around the new facility.  Trees and shrubbery were placed yesterday, grass and straw was sprayed on, the ramp and stairs are almost done, the canopy (what a structure!) is about complete, the dumpster cubby is about encircled, detailed woodwork and detailed painting is going on, the ruined floor in the women's restroom is being replaced, chairs are staged for use, Stafford County is doing inspections, and it generally is looking like a new building.  See 50 - December 13 for the latest pictures.

350 New Members Arrive!

Chairs have arrived! A handful of about 10 or so individuals arrived early this morning (December 8, 2006) to the Church lot to unload an 18-Wheeler FULL of chairs (some chairs for other Church homes around the area as well). 350 chairs successfully made their voyage to the new NSCofC Auditorium, only a handful were found to be runts of the litter and need to be replaced. View the newest Video Update #40 to see the events of the last 2 days. Nice color scheme with the chairs now eh?!
